Join Us at the Summer Harvest Festival with Gabrielle "Gabby" Balassone from Discovery Channel's Naked and Afraid!

Attention adventure seekers and survival enthusiasts! We are thrilled to announce that Gabrielle Balassone, widely known as Gabby, from Discovery Channel's Naked and Afraid, will be joining us at this year's Summer Harvest Festival on August 3rd. Don't miss this rare chance to meet the survivalist from 5 episodes of the popular show. Join us at the Bank of Romney parking lot at 6:45 before the Street Dance for a special meet and greet with Gabrielle. Get ready for an unforgettable experience! Gabby is not only an accomplished attorney and a mother of three, but she has also proven her mettle and resourcefulness as a five-time participant on Naked and Afraid and Naked and Afraid XL. We are honored to have her share her experiences and insights with us at our festival.

The Journey of Gabby Balassone

Gabby's life has been a testament to her bold and adventurous spirit. From driving dirt track race cars to working as a commercial fisherman on the Great Barrier Reef, and even captaining her collegiate rugby team, she has always sought out new challenges. This spirit led her to become one of the most accomplished survivalists in the history of Naked and Afraid, having completed five challenges and twice surviving alone.

A Childhood in the Wilderness

Growing up in Carroll County, Maryland, Gabby was a true country girl. Her father, a Vietnam veteran, instilled in her a profound sense of confidence and taught her valuable skills such as fishing, shelter building, and survival techniques. These early experiences in the woods ignited Gabby's adventurous spirit and nurtured a belief that she was capable of anything.

An Unforgettable Discovery

Gabby's journey on Naked and Afraid began one evening while she was flipping channels on TV. Intrigued by the show's concept of survival in extreme conditions, she poured herself a glass of wine and decided to apply. Less than 24 hours later, she was contacted by the casting company and eventually chosen for the 14-day fan challenge in South Africa. This marked the beginning of an incredible eight-year journey on the show, during which Gabby survived a total of 110 days in the wilderness, 23 of them alone.

Embracing Life Beyond Survival

When Gabby is not pushing her limits in the wilderness, she enjoys spending time in nature with her husband and three sons. She loves trail riding horses, traveling, making art, and working on projects around her farm. Her dedication to both adventure and family exemplifies her well-rounded approach to life.

The Essence of Naked and Afraid

As Gabby puts it, Naked and Afraid showcases the essence of humanity and the raw human survival experience. The show captures the emotions, struggles, and successes of individuals pushing themselves outside the bounds of society. Gabby appreciates the support she has received from her community and hopes that if you watch the show, you will be proud of what she has accomplished while being naked and, rarely, afraid.

Make sure to mark your calendars for the Summer Harvest Festival and join us in celebrating the accomplishments of Gabby Balassone. It's an opportunity to learn from one of the most respected survivalists and gain valuable insights into the human spirit and the art of survival.
